The Mount Haven Hotel in Penzance:our favourite stop over on the way to Isles of Scilly

UrlaubCornwall recommends that you don’t rush through Cornwall and instead make sure you stop at the Mount Haven Hotel, near Penzance, before heading on the Scilly Isles. Mount Haven is only a few minutes from the boat, plane and helicopter, giving you a chance to relax in a wonderful setting before heading onto the Scilly Isles.

Mount Haven has one of the most iconic views of any hotel in Britain. From the windows and balconies, you can see clear views of St. Michaels Mount. The island and castle is a few hundred metres off the south coast of England, and stands as one of Southern England’s most enduring features.

As well as the view, Mount Haven has a lot more to offer. Each room is individually decorated with a unique and contemporary mixture of Eastern culture and Western comfort in this converted old coach house. The spacious lounge and terrace are ideal for enjoying the relaxed ambience of Mount Haven, while perhaps trying some local Newlyn crab for lunch. The award winning restaurant serves the very best of Cornish produce, so you can make the final part of your journey to Scilly well fed, rested and completely satisfied.

Helicopters make the short trip to the Isles of Scilly everyday from nearby Penzance, as does the Scillonian ferry. Only a few minutes further away is Land’s End airport, whose planes give a spectacular view of the islands as you approach them for landing.
