Cornwall’s St Austell Brewery’s historic visitors centre: an attraction showing the history of brewing in Cornwall.
Cornwall’s largest brewer was founded in 1851 by Walter Hicks and many of his descendants are still involved in one Great Britain’s largest private brewers. With its famous Tribute beer now available throughout England the company’s reputation has spread much further than Cornwall.
Explore St Austell Brewery’s interactive museum and learn the fascinating story of the pubs, beers, and the Cornish families who created them over the years. Walk through the Victorian Brewery and experience the whole brewing process – from the secret spring that supplies us. It’s a historic setting for a modern brewer and tours of the building take you through the old fashioned techniques as well as today’s state of the art methods that produce it’s six draft ales including Tribute, Proper and Black Prince and numerous bottled beers.
The Brewery tour lasts approximately one hour and numbers are limited so a telephone booking on 01726 66022 will avoid disappointment. At the End your tour at the Hicks Bar for some essential product sampling of our award winning ales and a chance to take home a souvenir from the St Austell shop.
